Resources

Our resources for A Day of Welcome are designed to help introduce refugee migration to pupils and to explore the topic across Key Stages 1 to 4.

Suitable for all schools across Norfolk and beyond, our resources invite pupils to respond creatively to their learning with activities that often culminate in some kind of artistic or creative output. We provide plans for one-off lessons that can also be extended into a series of lessons, with more emphasis placed on the creative aspect of the work.

Resources for Schools in East Anglia
Additionally, we provide a local offer for schools based in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk. Schools in these counties have access to additional resources and suggestions to help them explore refugee histories from their local context.

The Toolkit

The toolkit for A Day of Welcome introduces our initiative and encourages you to get involved! You can use it alongside the learning resources and suggestions which are provided each year to help plan how your school will mark the big day.

You may decide to go the extra mile and to extend your work on welcome by running a citizen research project of your own, by applying to become a School of Sanctuary or by taking on the coordination of the initiative in your local area.
